Camo Foliage
One of the statement looks from CdgH 's Spring 2019 collection that revolved around the concept of 'Crazy Suits.' The cuts are modest, the jacket being a 4-button stance blazer whose lapels can be flipped up and fastened with short double vents at the hem. The trousers feature single pleats at the waist and a straight leg. The selling point here is the fabric, which sits between military Ghillie and 3D floral lace. Mock black petals/leaves are mounted on a mesh back then painted in earthy shades for a camouflage effect. The paint not only adds new colors and patterns but textural variation as well. The result is a compelling mix of aggressiveness and extravagance with immense depth, upending any traditional notions of tailoring. A brash yet concise design that crashes different worlds and aesthetics together to great effect.
